"A Trip to the River" - Trout Release Field Trip
This year in our classrooms, we have engaged in raising brook trout from eggs to adolescence. On Monday April 8th, we released them into the Charles River, marking a significant milestone in our environmental education journey. Starting with eggs, we monitored water conditions and watched as the trout grew from alevins to fry. Along the way, we learned about ecology, biology, and our impact on the environment. With anticipation, we brought the trout to the riverbank and released them into their natural habitat. It was a moment of connection with nature and a reminder of our responsibility as stewards of the environment. As we say goodbye to our trout, we carry with us the lessons learned and a commitment to environmental conservation.
